Showcase 2008

The SHOWCASE 2008 arrives at DoDDS-E schools in October. The annually published anthology of art and literature features the work of students in Kindergarten through high school. SHOWCASE reflects the efforts of hundreds of teachers working with thousands of students across DoDDS-E to produce outstanding work. Over 4,000 submissions are reviewed each year. The process begins with classroom teachers, who select exemplary art and writing from their schools. Selections are forwarded to district committees, where they are reviewed by panels of teachers, students, and parents. Works selected at the district level are sent to the SHOWCASE publication team for consideration. During a week of intense work each spring, twenty-five teachers design pages to the publisher's specifications using digital photography and publishing software. The book comes with a CD so readers can search for work by theme, genre, school, grade level, and student name. SHOWCASE reflects DoDDS-E’s commitment to ensure the creative work of our students is recognized and celebrated.
