School Counselors/School Nurses/School Psychologists
This year promises to be another excellent one for DoDDS-E Student Support Services (also known as Pupil Personnel Services). Several highlights include implementing the new manuals for counselors, school psychologists and health services, the September orientation for new nurses, use of the 2001 Guide for Crisis Management in the Schools, implementation of the Health Office software program, use of the Six-Year Education Plan for students in grades 7 - 12 and a great deal of communication. Details of any special events will be forthcoming in a separate communication.
DoDEA Systemwide Assessment Program
The DoDEA Systemwide Assessment Program consists of the following assessments: TerraNova 2nd Edition in March and TerraNova Performance Assessment in Communication Arts for grades 4,8 and 10 in late April-early May; Algebra End-of-Course Test and U.S. History End-of-Course Test. Guidelines for systemwide assessment are found in the DoDEA regulation 2000.6. It is important that all district and school staffs review this regulation and follow its guidance.
